What happens when you don't exercise your pup enough....

On Monday my boyfriend and I walked into our apartment to this. Apparently Thunder had some energy to expel and choose one of our plants to use it on....

The Blue Side of Thunder

So,

There was a time when Thunder was not his crazy self. It was about a year ago when something sad happened....
It was a cold November afternoon at the South Burlington dog park. Thunder was running around crazy with another dog when all of a sudden they hit a mud puddle. They slipped and rolled over each other. When Thunder went to get back up, he cried and fell down again. Adam, my boyfriend ran up to him, but the dog he was playing with all of sudden turned, starting to bite Thunder and Adam. Adam had to fight off the other dog to pick him up and run him to the car.

His leg was broken and he needed surgery. Three-hours and $3,000 later, there were two pins and a wire holding my puppies bone in place. Luckily we had pet insurance that covered half the cost of all the vet bills. Unfortunately 9-month old Thunder had to stay calm and inside for 3-months!

Here's some pictures from his recovery:

Thunder parties like a rock star

This weekend my friend had a get-together at her place with 30+ of our friends. At first I thought I would have to board Thunder since Adam and I were both going. To my excitement she said all animals were allowed!

Thunder was a party animal! He stayed up with us and, like the rest of us, was feeling pretty tired on Sunday. He slept the whole way home and all night.

Here's a picture of him at the party:

Window Sitting...

Thunder loves to stare out the window at passing cars and neighborhood squirrels. After going outside to "relieve" himself and eating, he climbs up on the couch and props himself up. He's a silent watcher though (thankfully!), not barking as people walk by or trucks pass the window. At 70-lbs he's too big to fit in the window sill, but when he was just a babe, he fit quite well:

The hills are alive with the sound of Thunder!

Ok, so I know a blog about my dog might seem a little sad, but honestly it really is the only thing I could talk about everyday! So what is so cool about this dog? Well, he's a year and a half old and if you know anything about boxers, that means he's crazy. Hence the name Thunder. All 70-lbs of him thunders around our small 2-bedroom apartment, thunders around doggie daycare (yeah they have "nanny cams") and thunders through any toy we get him (he's destroyed one of these huge dinasaurs before).

He's got serious personality and serious energy. Instead of playing with toy tire, he's got a real tire he drags around the backyard.

Here's a picture!
